When Brook said that they needed help refreshing their brand and conveying their message, we jumped at the chance to help them. A nationally recognised charity offering advice and guidance on sexual health to young people for over fifty years, Brook are an organisation with a rich history and ambitious plans for the future. The re-branding exercise needed to do more than just give the charity a fresh identity; it needed to inject some energy in to the organisation and galvanise those involved in the running of it.
Following a series of brand workshops, involving members of all areas and levels of the organisation, we worked closely with the Brook marketing and communications team to get under the skin of the charity, clarifying objectives and developing an understanding of their challenges. Incorporating the Brook heritage was central to our plans and this was used to inform the design of the brand logo and accompanying assets. The team wanted to create something contemporary that was sensitive to the ethos of the organisation and its founder Helen Brook.
The final outcome was a bold and vibrant refresh of the Brook identity and associated brand materials. The main logo is supported by a bespoke pattern, derived from the flamboyant dresses that the founder was famous for. These little nods to the past mean that the Brook brand retains its integrity and heritage whilst looking forward to the future.
Other deliverables included the design of marketing and event collateral such as pocket folders, strategic reports, banners and merchandise. Brand guidelines were also created to encourage continuity in the execution of the brand among regional offices.
