This year will mark 20 years of sixredsquares! And whilst we're always proud to talk about our projects, stats and achievements, it's the story itself that we really want to celebrate, and all of the people that have joined us on this incredible journey.
We always say that ‘it starts with a good idea’, but for us, it actually started with six graphic design students at South East Essex College, who shared a passion for design and a few pints in the local pub, sometimes when we should have been in lectures! What we can say is that we would normally spend our time scrutinising the typography on the bar menu and plotting how we could take over the world, or at least the design industry.
We set out on day 1 to be champions of creativity, bringing ideas to the fore and helping people to solve real problems with original thinking. We’ve stayed true to that aim and now we’re forging ahead with our mission to make design a force for positive change, with the same fire in our bellies that we had in those early days. It’s been a rollercoaster ride at times but we’re not looking to get off any time soon.
Over the coming months we’ll be delving through the archives to share some key moments of our journey from student collective to award-winning agency, as well as looking ahead to what’s in store. We invite all of our friends, colleagues, clients and contacts to share their memories and help us share #20yearsofideas
And to kick us off, we’ve found one of our very first websites, which we’ve managed to put online and you can access it here We like to think we’ve got a lot more sophisticated with our web design since then, but we all have to start somewhere.
