Earlier this month we were delighted to see the NOF project scoop a Silver at the iESE Public Sector Transformation Awards for the Collaboration & Partnerships category.

The sixredsquares team has been working with Nourishing Our Future (NOF), a pioneering project exploring the food environment within private, voluntary and independent early years settings, for a little over a year. But already we’ve seen it have a significant impact, celebrating the commitment from early years practitioners to children’s food education and nutrition, as well as identifying significant challenges when it comes to providing healthy meals to under-fives.

Since developing the original brand in collaboration with the project partners, Anglia Ruskin University and Essex County Council, we’ve created a range of collateral and marketing materials for the project, which have helped to amplify the message and mission across a wide selection of channels.

We were then commissioned to create the brand and materials for the NOF Award, an extension of the project to support early years settings across Essex to implement the new EYFS Nutrition Guidance, creating healthier food foundations for young children and families.

The project has gone from strength to strength and we were delighted for the NOF team when we heard that they had scooped the Silver in the Collaboration & Partnerships category at the iESE Awards. It’s recognition of all the hard work that’s gone into the project to date and great to see child’s nutrition being brought to everyone’s attention. It’s also been nominated at the Local Government Chronicle 2026 Awards, for the Public and Population Health category, so fingers crossed for another win!

We’re currently working on the new NOF website and can’t wait for it to be unveiled at their annual conference this month. More news on that soon! NOF is doing great things in our communities to help parents and settings to create healthier food environments for our youngest children, and we’re proud to be supporting it.
